Our Not so Warm Start to Summer

We headed up to the Barth family cabin in Pinecrest this Memorial Day weekend. We were shocked when we realized it was snowing on Friday and was actually sticking. When we got up there Saturday it was raining off and on and was quite a bit of snow still on the ground. By Sunday it was melting fast and my Monday it was long gone. C discovered walking about 2 weeks ago and has really begun to take off. If he can stand up on something there is no more thought of crawling. It's when he falls that he kicks back into crawl gear. All weekend long he wanted to be outside walking around. He was too dang cute. We had a blast and can't wait for more adventures at the cabin this summer!
LOVE this pic!
Oops! Someone fell in the water! Poor Boy!

DISNEYLAND

For graduation from college (yahoo!) Todd didn't want to spend the money associated with walking so we decided to take a family trip instead. My brother and his family live close to Disneyland and get killer deals on tickets so we decided to take advantage of that! We drove down on Thursday night and spent all day Friday with my mom sister-in-law and C's 2 cousins in Disneyland. My brother joined us when he got off work. C did fabulous! He is such a good traveler.
First ride of the day was Dumbo
Winnie the Pooh
Our attempt at a family picture!
On Saturday C stayed home with his cousins and we headed back to California Adventure with my mom. I am glad that she was able to come with us and spend a little more time before she moved. Getting Ready for Toy Story
On the Raft Ride. We had to work hard to convince my mom to come and she got soaked. I don't think she will ever forgive me for that one. I'd love to show you the after pic but she will write me out of the will if I do!
Sunday we just went to church and relaxed a bit before we headed back home. Right before we left the kids had to go explore in my brothers truck. They thought it was the coolest thing ever!
We had a blast and wouldn't trade that weekend for anything! Can't wait to take our family back to Disneyland in a few years!

Our Lil' Dare Devil

CH is becoming quite the dare devil. I guess being raised in a house full of tile has taught him to be pretty tough. Todd put up his swing the other evening and he absolutely LOVES it! He gets the cheesiest grin on his face when he goes higher and higher.
He has also discovered climbing. He loves to climb up the stairs at Grandma and Pops house. He also is getting braver at climbing on random things he can find at home too!
I have a feeling this little boy is going to keep me on my toes over the next few years!!

A Day in the Life...

I am all finished up with my long term and love being back home a few days of the week playing stay at home mom. I am still working a few days a week but Grandma and Aunt Brooke are awesome and volunteer to watch CH for me when ever they can! They are the best!!! The days that we are home are rather productive. Here is a typical day for us. We wake up and eat a delicious breakfast typically consisting of oatmeal and some sort of fruit mixed in. Then we start our routine. First... Stand at moms legs and make "mmmmmmm" sounds and mooch half of mom's breakfast off of her.
Second... Explore what toys are on the carpet and see what we can get into. Today it was a box. Out of the box, in the box, out, in, and repeat 10 or more so times.
Third... Get tired of toys and go check if mom has closed the gates or not so I can play in my drawer. (we have 2 gates blocking off the kitchen so we wouldn't have to put locks on all the cabinets)
Then check the other drawers.
Fourth... Mom realizes that CH is destroying the kitchen so she locks me out.
Fifth... Mom bores CH so he heads to the door to check if daddy is home yet?
And Finally... Dad is not home yet so we eat some more and then start all over again.
For the record, this all takes about 1.5 hours so we do this approximately 4 times before Daddy actually gets home. If we are lucky, we get a little cat nap in there somewhere! Mommy gets absolutely NOTHING done!

Popcorn Popping

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful orchards around Grammy and Grandpa's house and snap a few photos of C. Here are a few of my favorites (it was hard to pick just 1). Hope you enjoy too!

Get Moving!

Since Christmas C has been
showing a lot of interest in this whole moving thing! He started off by crawling backwards. It was pretty funny to watch him move away from what he wanted. He also got into some awkward spots...

That lasted for a few weeks and then in the last 6 days he has not only started going forward but also discovered that he can pull himself up on objects.

My left just went from low key to lets get baby proofing! Oh No!!!

Happy New Year

We had a blast with our friends the Belos on New Years. We just love spending time with them. It was very low key which was perfect. We celebrated using east coast time so all the kids could go to bed and we could play.
C and his crush Kenzie had to get in one the midnight smooch! They both LOVED it!

I mean, just look at that face... One happy boy!!! Thanks Belos for such a fun night!

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas! It was very low key on both sides of our family which was perfect in my opinion. C enjoyed all his gifts but to be completely honest he enjoyed the wrapping paper and tissue best.
Here we are at Todds parents on Christmas eve.

Christmas eve was also C's 6mo mark so we kept tradition and got his pictures taken. Here is one of my favorites.

We are so glad both of our families are so close and we get to spend holidays with them!
